3 Ways to Win Big in Vegas Before Playing the First Casino!

January 19, 2018 by Thomas Hedley

Ah, Vegas! How many times have you dreamt of going to Las Vegas to try your hand at Black Jack or the roulette wheels? You imagine playing the slots, only to have all the lights start flashing, bells blaring and gold coins piling at your feet like a sandstorm in the Mojave Desert. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that just doesn’t happen!

Usually, the machine spits out a card that you take to the cashier for your $20 winning or, more often than not, nothing. You simply put in your next token and try again. What if you could win big in Vegas before ever playing at the first casino? In fact, there are at least three ways to win big enough so that you actually have a few dollars left over to take on lady luck.

1. Learn the Closely-Held Secret of Vegas

You’ve heard it said that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Perhaps that’s why it’s still a secret! One of the best ways to win big in Vegas is to find the right hotel that won’t cost an arm and a leg. Sure, staying at those 5-star hotels on the boulevard will leave you one leg to hop down to the tables with and one arm to pull the lever down on the slots, but why go short-handed? (Pardon the pun!)

You can find affordable hotels with 5-star service that aren’t necessarily affiliated with the big casinos. Some may be, some may not be, but you can find out the ‘secret’ to affordable accommodations on the SecretHotels.org website.

2. Spend Next to Nothing on Food!

Anyone who lives in Nevada or nearby California has seen those flashing billboards on every major highway. Eat free (or cheap) buffets with a player’s card at this casino on the Strip or, Ladies Night where women drink free all night. For every drink that a man buys, his ‘date’ gets one free. There are all kinds of deals like this, so if you time your visits to the casinos just right – at meal time – you’ll get a heck of a bargain! Play to your heart’s content and eat or drink virtually for free, or as close to it as you can get.

3. Book Your Stays to Coincide with Big Name Shows

Sometimes, you can time your stay in Vegas at just the right moment to see your favorite celeb performing at dinner clubs in the casinos. If you’ve never been to Vegas, you have no idea what it’s like to walk into a building that’s like a mini-city unto itself. You can do everything from visit trendy designer shops to watching Celine perform for a once-in-a-lifetime show. Some of these big name acts no longer tour but are resident performers in Vegas. You see? It stays in Vegas, just like the slogan says!

It’s amazing what you can find in Vegas and perhaps that’s why it stays in Vegas. A Las Vegas vacation is like a treasure hunt every time you visit and if you don’t bring home the jackpot, you bring home the gold – memories to last until next year when you’ll be back again.

Las Vegas Weekend Getaway – What You Need To Know

September 20, 2017 by Thomas Hedley

So a big event is coming up – maybe a hen or stag do or a big birthday and you’re wanting to do something truly off the wall, spectacular and exciting. But what? With so many things to choose, it can be difficult to pick just one thing to do, so why not pick the craziest option on your list – a long weekend with your crew to Las Vegas. It’s on everybody’s wish list, and you often get people talking about wandering the Strip, checking out casinos, going to some of the insane shows available and getting a bit rowdy, so what are you waiting for? Check out this mini guide to planning the perfect Vegas long weekend, for any occasion!

Accommodation

With so many hotels available throughout Vegas it can be easy to get distracted over choice. Depending on your budget and the budget of your crew it can be either something you splurge or something you skimp on and there are honestly hotels throughout the city to suit most budgets. The only downside is that if you scrimp on a hotel, you might actually end up with something pretty heinously bad, so be sure you’re prepared to literally get what you pay for in terms of quality. There are budget hotels that are known for being a bit better in terms of quality such as Days Inn or Travelodge. If you’re looking to splurge, consider booking yourself the ultimate in luxury at the likes of the Luxor Vegas or MGM Grand – both home to some seriously luxe pampering options as well as shows and in house casinos.

Getting In, Around and Out

Las Vegas is one of the most well serviced airports in the United States, welcoming millions of passengers each year who come to check out the city, year round. With a number of international flights daily, it’s important to remind prospective travellers of the need of a tourist visa to the United States for some nationalities. You can check the duration of a valid EVUS visa as well as apply for one online with ease. Getting around Las Vegas is simple and their public transport system is well maintained and serviced, with many routes lasting well into the night if not 24 hours to allow visitors to come and go as they please. Leaving the city, particularly to check out the nearby Hoover Dam can be arranged through most travel agencies or through the front desk at your hotel, including getting transfers to cities further afield such as Los Angeles, a 4 hour drive or only an hour flight.

Play It Cool

Remember that gambling can run away with you really quickly, especially if you’re convinced your luck is about to change so be sure to play it cool. Allocate yourself only a specific amount for gambling and once it’s gone, it’s gone. Keep yourself safe and be sure to enjoy your time in the city without going too wild. After all, it’s way more fun to play for fun and enjoy yourself than to let it get away from you!

So there you have a quick mini guide on Las Vegas and what to check out in terms of accommodation and transport, as well as some useful tips. Enjoy your time in the city, and have fun!
