Strut Your Stuff This Season- 5 Different Styles For Autumn Wear

September 21, 2017 by Thomas Hedley

Keep up with the weather as well as the fashion. There’s a host of autumn wear that can leave you feeling full of worth this season. You don’t have to drag out old hoodies and bruised boots but get yourself some of the latest garments. Here’s 5 different styles to consider.

Jacket

The summer has past, and now is the time to get the jackets to hand, as the temperatures dip. You may think that jackets usually cloud, and cover your outfits, but there’s many options out there for you to be warm as well as trendy.

You could pick up one of Stockholms raincoats in the durable rubberised cotton. This will not only leave you looking on point, but will also allow you to withstand the autumn rains. You could also invest in a suede bomber jacket by Boglioli on lyst; where sleek and suede meet, this will complement any look.

From capes to gilets, blazers to bomber jackets, you can choose the style that suites your look and leaves you looking cool, and comforted in those cold crisp mornings. You can part with those worn out jackets in the wardrobe and purchase one that leaves you looking the part.

Hat

With the winds of autumn prone to blow a nice hairstyle into a mess, a decent hat is a way to combat that. Let your locks rest secure in the gales, under a hat that brings out your look. Tuck the tips of your ears under, and keep your them from going red from the cold.

Top off your office apparel with a sheek bowler cloche hat from JJsHouse. With the shelter at the front of the face this will also stop your makeup from smudging in the wind or rain. You might like a vintage twist to one of your outfits, and Janessa Leones wool cap is just the right pick to accomplish that.

There’s a whole autumn headwear arsenal available today. You could opt for a cozy cap, or a fabulous faux fur beanie, the list is endless when it comes to choosing. There may also be health benefits to wrapping your hair in the brisk weather, as it can reduce the risk of hair breakage or weakening.

Boots

What better way to step out onto those puddle filled streets, than with footwear that will keep your feet protected. Kick through those autumn leaves joyfully in a new pair of boots, that will boost your confidence.

Whether you prefer a pair of knee-high boots to show off your long legs, or opt for something a bit lower like ankle boots, or even higher like thigh-skimming boots, it’s your choice. From red sock boots from Zara, or patent boots from Topshop, or even white gazer booties from Steve Madden, you can pick from a wide range.

Choose from laces, buckles, zips, velvet with lace, plateau, flats or low heels. Whatever you want you can get.

Jeans

Jeans are ideal because they offer coverage from the cold, and are versatile as they work with any look. You could sport some skinny jeans with trainers, bootcut with ankle boots, or flares with some heals, it’s down to you. Whether printed, ripped, patterned or plain, there’s a range to root through.

Accessories

Get your studded bracelets to the ready, brunette bags, or cashmere scarfs, whatever added extra is needed to compliment your look this autumn.

Las Vegas Weekend Getaway – What You Need To Know

September 20, 2017 by Thomas Hedley

Source

So a big event is coming up – maybe a hen or stag do or a big birthday and you’re wanting to do something truly off the wall, spectacular and exciting. But what? With so many things to choose, it can be difficult to pick just one thing to do, so why not pick the craziest option on your list – a long weekend with your crew to Las Vegas. It’s on everybody’s wish list, and you often get people talking about wandering the Strip, checking out casinos, going to some of the insane shows available and getting a bit rowdy, so what are you waiting for? Check out this mini guide to planning the perfect Vegas long weekend, for any occasion!

Accommodation

With so many hotels available throughout Vegas it can be easy to get distracted over choice. Depending on your budget and the budget of your crew it can be either something you splurge or something you skimp on and there are honestly hotels throughout the city to suit most budgets. The only downside is that if you scrimp on a hotel, you might actually end up with something pretty heinously bad, so be sure you’re prepared to literally get what you pay for in terms of quality. There are budget hotels that are known for being a bit better in terms of quality such as Days Inn or Travelodge. If you’re looking to splurge, consider booking yourself the ultimate in luxury at the likes of the Luxor Vegas or MGM Grand – both home to some seriously luxe pampering options as well as shows and in house casinos.

Getting In, Around and Out

Las Vegas is one of the most well serviced airports in the United States, welcoming millions of passengers each year who come to check out the city, year round. With a number of international flights daily, it’s important to remind prospective travellers of the need of a tourist visa to the United States for some nationalities. You can check the duration of a valid EVUS visa as well as apply for one online with ease. Getting around Las Vegas is simple and their public transport system is well maintained and serviced, with many routes lasting well into the night if not 24 hours to allow visitors to come and go as they please. Leaving the city, particularly to check out the nearby Hoover Dam can be arranged through most travel agencies or through the front desk at your hotel, including getting transfers to cities further afield such as Los Angeles, a 4 hour drive or only an hour flight.

Play It Cool

Remember that gambling can run away with you really quickly, especially if you’re convinced your luck is about to change so be sure to play it cool. Allocate yourself only a specific amount for gambling and once it’s gone, it’s gone. Keep yourself safe and be sure to enjoy your time in the city without going too wild. After all, it’s way more fun to play for fun and enjoy yourself than to let it get away from you!

So there you have a quick mini guide on Las Vegas and what to check out in terms of accommodation and transport, as well as some useful tips. Enjoy your time in the city, and have fun!

What To Do When Your Flight is Canceled

September 19, 2017 by Thomas Hedley

Whether you’re traveling for work or leisure, there’s really nothing that can cause more dread in a flyer than hearing that your flight is canceled. While a canceled flight can be incredibly frustrating, there are things you can do to mitigate the adverse effects of the situation.

The following are some of the things you should do when your flight is canceled.

Understanding Compensation

First and foremost, so many travelers don’t know their rights and options when it comes to compensation for a canceled flight. There are different rules for compensation from different airports, but in many cases, airlines are legally required to provide compensation.

With that being said, if a flight is canceled because of a natural disaster or something beyond the airline’s control, they may not be legally obligated to provide compensation, but there are still options.

There are apps that will automatically go through your flight itineraries, and when you have a flight that’s canceled or delayed, they will file claims for compensation. Most airlines will offer something to passengers, but so many people don’t try to reclaim any compensation at all.

An automated app makes it much easier to file a claim so that you don’t have to worry about the right format or submitting it.

In general, before you travel with an airline you should review your rights. Read over the contract of carriage to know more about specific policies for the airline.

Call or Tweet the Airline

If you’re at a gate surrounded by plenty of other angry passengers it can be tough to even talk to an airline representative. You might be better off and get a faster and more desirable response if you call the airline or even tweet their customer service team.

If you are trying to speak to someone, it’s important to be firm and proactive, and have in mind some alternate options, but you should still try to be polite because being rude isn’t necessarily going to get you a great response.

Cancellations Because of Airline Problems

When it comes to cancellations because of events out of an airline’s control which can include everything from weather to civil unrest, your compensation options are more limited than if the airline cancels a flight because of something that’s within their control. This can include things like a shortage of crew members or a plane change.

In the event of this situation, you can often get meal vouchers if your flight delay is for more than four hours, and for extended delays you can get hotel accommodations, but you need to ask because most airlines would rather not hand these perks out.

Finally, if you’re traveling outside of the U.S. and you’re in the EU, you have even more traveler benefits in most cases. If you’re on a flight within the European Union, you are often entitled to things such as alternative transportation or a refund, and various compensation options if you get a replacement seat, but it means a delay of at least three hours.

Cities you probably haven’t heard of but should travel to right now

September 18, 2017 by Thomas Hedley

Tired of all the same “top travel destinations” you see online? Perhaps you’ve visited all the conventional ones or would like to go somewhere few people have been. Well, you’re in the right place. In this article, we’ll go outside the box for vacation destinations.

Here are some lesser-known cities that some people are yet to discover. Check them out and see why you should visit them real soon.

Dubrovnik, Croatia. Fancy Game of Thrones? This Croatian city portrays King’s Landing, so brace yourself for a trip to the very land where one of the best television shows are shot. Known to travellers as “The Pearl of the Adriatic”, this city is filled with stunning Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, palaces, monasteries, and fountains.

Visit Mount Srđ for a nice hike that offers a marvellous view of the town, upon of which sits a stronghold containing a small yet enthralling history museum. And don’t forget to try some Pag Cheese!

Cancun, Caribbean. This relatively unknown city lies on the shore of the Caribbean, with pristine beaches and lapping waves. It is however well-known to North Americans for its exciting nightlife and splendid resorts. Here you’ll find traditional and quaint downtowns that offer a good contrast to the all-inclusive nightclub districts and high-rise hotels, so you can always find and afford what you like.

Its superb beaches and flawless climate offer spots for families seeking some solitude, plus it’s a gateway to the ruins of Tulum and Chichen Itza. Visit the MUSA (Museo Subacuatico de Arte), an underwater museum of art. And don’t forget to sip Margaritas while in Cancun!

Almaty, Kazakhstan. Boasts as the cultural and commercial centre of central Asia, Almaty is also the former capital of and largest city in Kazakhstan. It is framed by majestic snow-capped mountains and gridded with easily navigable streets. Awesome for winter vacations, and also serves as a great jump-off point for eco-adventures in the steppes. If you prefer a city life, Almaty offers nightlife, good food, and a metro system that makes navigating the city easy and fun.

Here you’ll find cafes, a small zoo, an amusement park, souvenir shops as well as beaches to enjoy panoramic views. Medeu, which is the highest Olympic-sized ice stadium is also found here.

Basel, Switzerland. Known as one of Europe’s most unrecognized tourist destinations. Basel is Switzerland’s third largest city and sits on the Swiss border where it meets both France and Germany. It is beside the stunning Rhine river and also known for its amazing winter carnivals and the yearly Art Basel festival, which is a celebration of some of the best international modern arts. Walk up cobbled streets, check out Marketplatz for produce, try the street food, and bask in the sun on the banks of Rhine!

Havana, Cuba. Cuba’s biggest city is still littered with Spanish colonial architecture of the 16th century. It’s colourful alleys and narrow streets still retain a strong sense of history and the local culture. You can still see ancient American cars, music and laughter emanating from every blog. Indeed, it’s a town of life and vigour.

Bask in the beauty of the UNESCO Heritage Site La Habana Vieja, which boasts gorgeously restored building humming with life as the citizens of Havana strolls around. Don’t forget to learn some Spanish before you go and try the street side churros too!

End Note

There you have it! Some of the world’s most gorgeous cities that are yet to be filled with hordes of tourists. As most of these locations will be relatively new to you experience wise, don’t forget to secure an overseas travel insurance to ensure that any travel issues you may experience pre-flight and during your stay is covered so you can focus on the fun and not on worrying.

What are you waiting for? Invite your friends and/or family and plan ahead.
